How to start a new notebook in Niravah

Close the notebook you are in and begin a new one for a season, a trip or a time of life. Nothing is lost, and the old one stays on your shelf.

To start a new notebook, open “This notebook” and tap “Start a new notebook”, then give the next one a name if you like. It is part of Niravah Premium, and the notebook you are in simply keeps growing without it.

Choose your moment

A new notebook suits a season, a trip, a move, a time of life. There is no right time, and one notebook can hold years if you like. Starting a new one is only an invitation to give a stretch of life its own cover.

Open the notebook’s sheet

On the home screen, tap “Edit this notebook” under the cover, or open it from the Contents page. The sheet lists “Change the cover”, “Rename this notebook” and “Start a new notebook”.

Tap “Start a new notebook”

Niravah asks “Close this notebook?” and explains: the notebook goes on your shelf, its dates are set, and you can always read it again. Closing it has no undo, so take your time.

Name the next one

Under “Name for the next notebook”, write a name, or leave it empty: “A name, if you like.” Then tap “Close this notebook”. The screen says “Kept.” and “Your last notebook is on your shelf, whenever you feel like looking back.”

Dress its cover

“Dress up its cover?” offers “Choose its cover”. The new notebook begins on the default cover, not a copy of the last one, and you can skip this and do it later.

Find the one you closed

On the home screen, “My notebooks” shows your shelf, and “See all” opens “Your notebooks”. The closed notebook’s recap waits in its Contents page, with a small “new” chip on the shelf until you watch it.

Good to know

  • Starting a new notebook is Premium. Without it, “Start a new notebook” opens a sheet with “Discover Premium” and “Stay in this notebook”.
  • Always free: write without limits in the notebook you are in, reread every notebook, rename and pick a colour.
  • Without Premium, your current notebook keeps growing and nothing is lost.
  • Closed notebooks stay readable and yours, whether or not Premium continues.
  • A trip can also live inside one notebook, with a place on each page.

For trips, see the travel journal guide, and for what Premium includes, the FAQ. To begin, get Niravah.
