Niravah

Keep your first months in a new city

The first weeks somewhere new are full of small firsts, and they blur fast. Niravah is a notebook where each day gets a page: a photo, a few words, a place, a person. Years later, you will be glad the ordinary days are in there too.

The small firsts are the story

The first morning the baker knows your order. The wrong tram, the right street. The neighbour who finally says hello. None of it feels big while it happens, which is why a single photo and one sentence are enough to keep it.

The people, not only the places

Each page can name a person. The flatmate who explained the laundry rules, the classmate from the language café, the colleague who walked you to the metro. A year from now, the faces and the names are still together on the page.

On the heavy days too

Not every page has to be cheerful. Some days a photo of the grey street and three words are the truest thing you have. The notebook takes them as they come, and never asks you to feel differently.

Seeing how far the days have taken you

Every so often a day from your first weeks comes back as a card on the home screen. In March you may find October, a little lost and very curious. At the end of a semester or a season, the notebook's recap lets you leaf back through it all. Only days with real content come back.

For the people back home

A little film or an image made from your pages is easy to hand to someone: your parents, an old friend, your sister. It is made to give, not to post, and it carries a small Niravah mark.

What is free, what is Premium

Your first notebook and everything in it are free, for as long as the stay lasts. Starting a new notebook (one per semester, one per city) is part of Niravah Premium, from €6.99 a month, €54.99 a year or €129.99 once. Notebooks you already have stay free forever. Changing phone is covered too: with the optional backup, your pages and words come with you for free, and photo backup is part of Premium. Niravah is available in English and French.

Questions

Is Niravah a good journal for a year abroad or Erasmus?
Yes, because it asks for very little: a photo and a few words are a full page. It keeps one notebook free, works without an account, and keeps your days private on your phone.
Can I write in my own language?
Yes, the words you write are yours, in any language you like. The app itself is in English and French.
What happens if I change phone?
Turn on the optional backup and your pages and words follow you. It is encrypted before it leaves your phone and hosted in Europe. Photos in the backup are part of Premium.
Do I have to write every day?
No. Niravah has no streaks and no scores. If a week goes by, your notebook is just as you left it.
