To lock Niravah, open Settings, tap “App lock” and create a passcode. You can add Face ID or your fingerprint to unlock faster. The lock is free and optional.
Open “App lock”
In Settings, tap “App lock”, described as “Optional passcode and biometric lock”. If it is your first time, a short note says it is entirely your call. Tap “Set up a passcode”, or “Not right now”.
Create your passcode
Under “Create your passcode”, “Choose 4 digits that feel easy to remember.” If the code is very simple, Niravah asks “Keep it” or “Try a different one”. Then enter it again under “Enter it once more”. Tap “All set” when it is done.
Add Face ID or your fingerprint
“Unlock even faster” offers “Turn on Face ID”, or “Turn on Touch ID” or “Turn on biometrics”, depending on your phone. Prefer not to? “Use passcode only”. Your passcode always works as the fallback. You can switch it later with “Use Face ID” on the App Lock screen.
Choose when it locks
Under “Lock when”, pick “Immediately”, “After 1 minute”, “After 5 minutes”, “After 15 minutes” or “When I close the app”. “Immediately” locks as soon as you leave the app.
Change or remove it
On the App Lock screen, “Change passcode” asks for your current code first, then a new one. “Remove passcode” asks you to confirm, and Niravah then opens freely. You can add one again whenever you like.
If you forget your passcode
Choose “Forgot your passcode?” on the lock screen. Niravah keeps your data on your phone and never sends your passcode to a server, so it cannot be recovered remotely. You have two options. “Restore from your backup” lets you sign in, set a new passcode and bring your data back, if you had turned on the optional backup. “Start fresh on this device” erases everything on this phone and begins again, which cannot be undone. Make a backup in Settings under “Cloud Sync” before you rely on the lock.
After too many wrong tries, Niravah asks you to wait a moment before trying again.
Good to know
- App lock is free.
- It keeps the app closed when someone else picks up your phone. It is a lock on the app, not encryption.
- Your passcode stays on your phone.
